[English]

The aim of this study was to identify the productive and reproductive traits of Khalkhali indigenous goat population (Aran goat) in its native habitat and to obtain basic information to improve breeding status and increase future production. To implement this project, 20 villages from three parts in Khalkhal (Central, Khorosh Rostam and Imam rood) were randomly selected by proportional selection method and 3 herds were studied in each village. The results showed that the average of kidding was 88.7±3.4 %, average of twining rate was 11.11±4.8 %, average of birth weight was 1.9±.47 kg in male and 1.78±0.45 kg in female kids. Average of puberty weight was 12.5±3.2 kg in males and 16.73±2.88 kg in females. Average of kidding interval was 1.06±0.45 year. Average of length lactation was 167.1±45.3 days and average of milk yield was 760±230 g with the mean of 4.39±1.19 % milk fat. Average of weaning age was 5.56±0.76 month and weaning weight was 9.79±2.7 kg. Average of hair and mohair production in mature male and female goat was 222.3±116 g in year.
