Endophytic bacteria are microorganisms that are introduced as one of the most powerful tools in biological control of pathogens and protection of living organisms against damage caused by them. The aim of this study was to evaluate the inhibitory activity of the endophytic bacteria isolated from Citrus reticulata against the fungal pathogen Phytophthora nicotianae and Phytophthora citrophthora. This study was performed in laboratory conditions as a completely randomized design with three replications. In this experiment, 17 isolates of endophytic bacteria, identified using 16S rDNA gene, were used. The results showed that out of 17 endophytic bacteria, 3 isolates significantly prevented the growth of pathogenic isolates in cross-culture method on PDA + pepton culture medium; The sequence of these three isolates with the sequences of species of the genera Kytococcus schroetri, Paracrauroccus sp. and Psychrobacillus psychrodurance showed 99% similarity. Endophytic bacteria, Schroetri Kytococcus, Paracrauroccus sp. and Psychrobacillus psychrodurance had the highest 99.33%, 95.33% and 81.33% inhibition on the growth of pathogenic isolates, respectively. These results indicate that the bacterial species used in this study can be used for biological control of phytophthora diseases.
