This study aimed to investigate the genetic structure of kingfish, Scomberomorus commerson in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea using microsatellite markers. Totally 90 samples of adult kingfish were collected from three commercial catch stations, Konarak and Pasabandar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan Province and Dayer in Bushehr Province. 5 Primer sets (C83Sc ، H96Sc ، J43Sc ، F6Sc ، L42Sc) to use for genetic differentiation. Analyses revealed that average of alleles (Na) per locus was 7.5±0.68 (range 4 to 13 alleles per locus) and all sampled regions contained private alleles. The average observed and expected heterozygosities were 0.571±0.01 and 0.783±0.05, respectively. Deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were in all cases. F-statistics and gene flow estimates in allele frequencies were 0.127 and 2.11 respectively. Rst and Fst estimates in AMOVA indicated significant genetic differentiation among regions (p<0.01). Genetic Studies revealed that genetic difference among the studied groups is pronounced. This study shows the existence of genetically distinct groups in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea is the kingfish.
