Effect of diazinon on stress factors and some blood insides of kutum (Rutilus frissi kutum)

Abstract

Diazinon is an organophosphate pesticide that is widely used in agriculture and household for controlinf of soil insects, plants, fruits and vegetables. Toxics may create cytopathology and behavioral changes in fishes and other aquatic organisms. A further study on the effects of the pesticide diazinon has been focused more on physiological and biochemical changes and very rare on hematologic fluctuations. For this reason, 120 kutum with average weight of (11±1g) were selected in 4 treatments with 3 replicates. The LC50 concentration of the toxin was determined in previous experiments (25, 50 and 75%) of the lethal concentration of diazinon 60% were considered for this experiment. For adding the toxic, a standard solution with 6cc, 12cc and 18cc concentration used with 25, 50 and 75% of LC50 was calculated and with a pipet added to 100lit tub with fish. Stress factors, cortisol and glucose were statistically (P<0.05) increased  in  higher levels of diazonon. There was no significant difference in terms of lactate Dehydrogenase between experimental groups and control (P>0.05). Level of cholinesterase in experimental groups were significantly lower than the control (P <0.05).
