Abstract
Identification, species diversity and abundance of fishes in Markazi province, were studied during years 2004-2006. Nineteen stations were selected that included aquatic resources such as springs, rivers and dam's lakes. Fishes were caught and transferred to the lab on monthly basis. The fish were then identified using reliable references. Results indicated that 13 genus and 18 species belonged to the Osteichthyes class. Species of Alburnoides bipunctatus with 26.7% was the most abundant and Gambosia holbrooki with 0.98% was the least abundant in 19 stations. Also 3 of the exotic fishes (Grass carp, Silver carp & Gambosia) were noticed in this survey.
