Abstract

In this study, Hypophthalmichthys molitrix and Cyprinus carpio᾿s parasites were investigated during two sampling (summer and winter) in the earthen ponds around Ghaemshahr city. Water quality parameters including temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH was measured in the location of the sampling with using of Alcohol thermometer, pH meter and Oxygen meter respectively. Fishes were examined according to common methods of dissection after biometrics. Then The separated parasites were fixed by Formalin solution 10%  and finally  parasites were identified by identification keys. The parasites were found, including: Trichodina sp., Ichthyophthirius sp., Dactylogyrus sp., Bothriocephalus sp., Nematode and Acanthocephala. According to the results Dactylogyrus sp. Were the highest mean frequency (0.8) in Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, and Nematoda were the highest mean frequency (0.9) in Cyprinus carpio, that these parasites showed significant difference compared with the other ones (p≤0.05). The highest intensity of parasitic infections  were Bothriocephalus sp .in Cyprinus carpio and Trichodina sp. in Hypophthalmichthys molitrix. The results of this study showed that intensity of parasitic infection in Cyprinus carpio is a significant increase compared to the Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (p≤0.05).
