Abstract

Despite of  all the studies on the Amphipoda, as yet Amphipoda inhibiting in the eastern shores muddy substrates of Bahracan, have not been studies. The present investigation, aims to identify the Amphiopods in Bahracan which was done during the seasons of spring and summer of 1392. Sampling was done by using vanveen Grab (with 0.0625m² surface area) from 5 stations and in 6-25m depth. The samples were counted and identified through the valid identification keys. In this study 7 families and 9 genera were identified. genera are:  Ampithoe, Ampelisca, Byblis, Gammaropsis, Microphotis, Cheiriphotis, Gammarus, Ceradocus and  Ericthonius . Percentage of frequency for  each genus was calculated. The highest percentage of frequency was observed in two genera, Ampithoe with ratio of  39.47% and Ampelisca with ratio of  35.52%., Diversity indexes were calculated and the maximum variation of Amphipoda was reported in April. Chi-square test results was showed a significant correlation between the frequency of Amphipods and different months (P<0.05).
