Introducing 2 New Records of Hoverflies (Dip: Syrphidae) from Khorasan-e Razavi Province

Abstract

The syrphidae family is one of the largest families of Diptera that consists of more than 6000 living species .The larvae of many species of syrphidae are predators of Aphids and play an important role in biological control. . In order to identify hoverfly fauna, some specimens of adults were collected during 2011 - 2012 using a sweeping net in northen khorasan-e razavi province.
The results showed that 25 species belonging to 13 genera were identified. Two species Paragus abrogans, Cheilosia aerea are recorded for the first time from Khorasan-e Razavi Province.
