Abstract

Danio rerio fish is one of the very beautiful ornamental fish living in fresh water and tropical areas having that a lot of advocates in our country. This study carried out due to evaluation of the effect of Chlorella microalga on color indices. For studying, 360 specimens with 4 feeding treatments were randomly divided in 12 aquariums: the first group/control group received a sort of food called Energy in the market, the second received energy along with 0.5% chlorella supplement. The 3rd once received energy with 1% of the same supplement and the 4th group received energy with 1.5% of chlorella supplement being repeated with the frequency of three. The highest levels of l,a,b indices of Hab and Chroma were respectively computed as 58.75±14.47, 53.75±4.34, 16±1.44, 22.23±1.22, 55.86±4.49. However, since there is no significant difference between 1 and 1.5% levels (p>0.05) regarding l, a, b amount of Hab and Chroma, and the fish color change was obvious in 1% level  more than the 0.5 % level , thus 1% chlorella alga powder is the best feeding level for the color of this fish. Moreover, the use of such powder does not significantly affect the survival rate of this species of fish. It should be noted that the red and yellow Zebra fish skin mundane (indices a, b) after a period of 60 days more visible and increase the transparency which is the index L.
